Members voted unanimously to invite Laportia to join the club.
Bingo Committee Report
bingos going well. In
June, we did $3300 pots (each game got a little extra $$) Back doing 1600 blackout bingos every few weeks.
Fundraising Committee Report
Thnk of ideas for fundraisers. Looking to have a garage sale
in October at one of Caroline’s property.
We have several sites we can use to help promote the event.
Special Events/Installation Committee Report
several members attended the Seminar. Clint sang Karaoke. One of our newest Lions, Debbie was inducted
at the Seminar. Good time had by
all. Got district directories. Got info on upcoming events.
Eye Foundation Committee Report

Lions Camp Committee Report

- camp meeting. Summer session was great
- this year. We need to make a drive to recruit more campers for next summer.

Service Projects Committee Report
Fill the Fridge - Anthony
explained the project to new members/potential members. Prior to the last fill the fridge, we donated several hundred dollars in diapers
and diaper adjacent products (wipes, diaper cream, baby powder) He further
explained that we recently donated 5K to the 4th and 3rd
project.
Tania would like us to do another vision screening at fill
the fridge and trick or treats.
Lantern Light – project. Usually a central city project. Lots of Lions
including Anthony and LaPortia attended.
We made sandwich lunch bags for members.
They also had personal care product bags. Filipino American club also donated some
sleep mats for the homeless at Lantern Light.
Eyeglass Recycling -
Anthony attended the recycling project at Harahan. Lions sort the types of glasses, bifocal, reading, sunglasses, standard vision
glasses. They send them somewhere that
then cleans and reads the strength of prescriptions. The glasses used in less developed
glasses.
Bastion – Richard discussed the project. Bastion helps returned soldiers with PTSD
with support. We did a cookout for the
Bastion members recently. Richard,
Steve, Tania and Debbie went to help at the cookout.
Lion Awareness day August 22 Lakeside Mall (closer to The
Veterans Blvd entrance) by the Apple store.
Lions doing eye screenings, glaucoma tests. We have booths for different causes
there.
